Destruction of individuality in “Evangelion” #edcmooc

An organization called NERV, dependent on the UN, protects citizens of Tokyo-3 from the attacks by a strange beings called “Angels”; to combat these creatures, NERV developed a biomechanical giants called Decisive Combat Weapon of General Purpose Human-Artificial Evangelion (EVA, for short), which can only be piloted by teenagers.

The Simpson’s digital dystopia #edcmooc

ImagenIs well known that Simpsons show has addapted lots of flims into hilarious cartoon stories. Let’s go to digital dystopia case: We are in season 6, chapter “Treehouse of Horror V” where Homer accidentally goes back to dinosaur’s past and then, he kills a mosquito, When he’s back, Need Flanders is the leader of a 1984-style future. Utopia & Dystopia – a harmful cycle #edcmooc

WEEK 1 – LOOKING TO THE PAST
I viewed all four video resources in order to understand more the concept being proposed to us. In order to get my head around it i felt to start with breaking down what Utopia and Dystopia are to me in the context of digital culture and education.

Although both Utopia and Dystopia are opposing extremes of each other, I cannot but sense that one is not better than the other. Continue reading

I’ve signed up for an already-in-progress MOOC course, “E-Learning and Digital Culture,” taught by a team of professors at the University of Edinburgh, which is encouraging students to use their blogs, Twitter accounts (@bobstep) and other online media as part of the discussion.
